WIRED & HOTWIRED
San Francisco, California, USA |

 |
 |
| WIRED, first published in January of 1993, is a magazine
that continues to embrace young American elites, with its shocking design and
cutting edge views. Following the launch of Japanese WIRED in January of 1994,
the magazine went online as HOTWIRED in October of the same year. Quickly outgrown
the first office, the company relocated to its new office space. |
 |
 |
 |
| The requisite for the new office was an environment filled
with creative energy with a homey atmosphere. The growth of the office was unpredictable,
so it was necessary for the office to be flexible and able to self-reproduce like
a living organism. The desks in the open space are nothing but simple boards propped
on top of common filing cabinets. Amidst the rough disorder, there is an enthusiasm
that cannot be contained. The work hours and places are completely up to each
staff, this is WIREDs way of Luxurious Office, where everyone
is given the right to choose ones own work style, and the tools to guarantee
them are readily available. The freedom of time and place means the equipment
of the following: a portable personal computer, the line and system to execute
at high speed and the comprehensive networking of all. |
