ACCENTURE DALLAS

 |
| Accenture launched its Hub & Satellite strategy in
August of 1999, and the latest workplace strategy became a reality in their new
Dallas Office. The Hub offers their mobile workers spaces for meetings, collaboration
and intensive work. It is backed by Satellites, or Flexible Work Sites, under
a short lease term. The scheme offers a flexible strategy to accommodate the fluctuating
space demand, and it enables a large reduction of the office floor area. |

The office occupies 11th to 14th floors of William Square
Building. There are 500 seats for the total workforce of approximately 1,100,
cutting the cost of real estate. The four basic rules of design were: Accessibility
(accessible resources at the right time and place) Transparency (to know whats
being done and what can be done), Empowerment (independent authority) and Community
(sense of belonging and identification). While the 70% of the office is open,
there are private spaces distributed throughout which is one of many options that
cater to different work styles. A satellite office was constructed nearby, under
a short term lease of just 18 months, to back the Hub office.
This office also functions as a showcase of the Accenture brand. Through the team
effort of Marketing and Communication departments, a space was created for a dramatic
presentation of the companys past performances, current projects and its people,
using interactive displays. From the latest workplace to the showroom, all of
Accenture is packed into this office. |
